The Government of the State of Sonora, through the Sonora Institute of Culture, the Art and Cultural Center of Huachinera, CACH, the Municipalities of Huachinera and Moctezuma, the University of the Sierra and the National Board of the Arts and Culture, invite you to the 4th Annual Festival “Luna de Montaña” from the 14th through the 19th of October, in Huachinera, Sonora, Mexico. The Inauguration is Tuesday October 14th, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Art and Cultural Center of Huachinera, with a viewing of an Exhibition of painter Mario Moreno Zazueta at the end of the ceremony, to conclude with a musical presentation.
It is very important to emphasize that the “Luna de Montaña” Festival arose because of the Art and Cultural Center of Huachinera, CACH, with the intention to rescue and promote the Arts and Culture, specifically through the visual arts; an activity that has not been unfamiliar to the Region, as it is known that the Opata Indians worked on ceramics, sculptures and paintings.
Expect to see presentations of concerts, chorus, orchestra, swing, jazz, reggae and salsa; along with workshops in drawing, painting, sculpting in clay and stone, as well as exhibitions and conversations of visual arts and astronomy.
