Mike Orshan challenged me to put something about what I am "looking for" here in this group. Here's some initial thoughts:
I have a home in the Bajio - the central highlands of Mexico. Our home is in Cueramaro, an agricultural area in the state of Guanajuato, near Irapuato and Leon. Because we are in the center of Mexico, we are within reach of many emerging business areas. We also have a home in Sacramento, California. I have worked in Mexico City and Morelia, Michoacan for various technology companies, from HP to Scio (a "nearshore" software development company with US clients). I have more than 20 years of experience leading business and techology projects in the US, Mexico, and Europe. I have been speaking about the intersections of business and technology in seminars for a long time.
It is time for me now to find a way to bring things together and move entirely to Mexico. I have been involved in planning a few projects in San Miguel Allende recently and although they have not reached what I consider a "critical mass" yet, my time there and in Morelia (two years) has made me realize I feel more at home in Mexico than anywhere I have ever been.
So, what I am looking for? Projects where I can bring my experience, background, and passions to help entreprenuers and businesses be successful in Mexico.
What do I have to offer? 20 years of experience working with international - cross cultural teams. Skills in business and project planning and management that have run projects and businesses in the millions. I know the realities of working and living in Mexico. It isn't for everyone and it takes real effort, but the payoff has real value in both a business and social sense. We have to invest in Mexico, and I want to be part of the solutions and the success.
I can't begin to list all the business areas where I have worked in my career, but if you have any interest, thoughts or ideas where you think I might be of value - please don't hesitate to contact me.
